We Remember

BOYARCHUK, Jeanette

Jeanette M. Boyarchuk went to be with the Lord on August 14th 2016 at the age of 54. Survived by her loving husband Ronnie W. Boyarchuk, daughter Téa C. N. Boyarchuk of Vancouver, Mother Cecilia Saunders of St. Thomas, sisters Marion Tyson of New York, Helena Liberd of St. Kitts, Hyacinth Hendricks of the Virgin Islands, Angelica Baker of the Virgin Islands, Delores Tyson of the Virgin Islands, Florence Carty of St. Maarten, and Trudith Knight of Chilliwack, brothers Morris Boyarchuk of Surrey, William Thompson of England, Stanley Maynard and Edwin Stapleton of the Virgin Islands, and Emanual Stapleton of St. Maarten, in-laws Audrey and Lorraine Boyarchuk, as well as many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.  Predeceased by her father, Charles Saunders and sister Geraldine Finch.  Gone too soon; Jeanette was born on the sleepy little island of St. Kitts in the middle of the Caribbean in August 1961 to Cecilia and Charles Saunders and a family of six sisters and four brothers. She received her education in St. Kitts, St. Thomas and St. Maarten with further degrees in Restaurant and Hospital Management as well as Time Share Sales and Service then joined the workforce as a bookkeeper for a marina in Saint Maarten before moving to the Holland House Hotel where she worked her way up to assistant manager.  While working there she met her husband Ronnie Boyarchuk who was transferred to a bank in the Caribbean where he traveled all of the Dutch islands. They were married in 1994 and their union brought forth a child, Téa Cecelia Nadia Boyarchuk over whom she expressed love and fondness.  The family moved to Kelowna, British Columbia in 1998 and soon after Téa was enrolled into Aberdeen Hall where she excelled, and Jeanette being a doting mother cheerfully volunteered for any duties offered by the school. She eventually took over the hot lunch program and expanded it from 1 to 3 days a week. While there and in other volunteer projects (church and hospital) she made a myriad of friends who admired her for being a soft spoken gentle woman who was exceptionally kind to all that she met.  She specifically wanted to mention her special loving friends who have stood by her from the day they met: Carol, Mary, Michelle, Sherrie, Louise, Mylene, Charmaine, Trudith and Ruby.  Memorial services will be held on August 20th 2016 at 1 PM at Springfield Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior.  If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”

    Dearest Ron and Tea,
I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Jeanette. I will always remember her fondly as the hysterical hot lunch lady who made sure we ate our apples before having second helpings of pasta and as a kind and generous and creative spirit who made sure everyone was included. She lit up the room – remembered details about how your day was going and followed up on it weeks later. Even now when I think of “happiness” I think of her smile. I am truly sorry for your loss.

  • Cynthia Delve says:

Dear Tea and Ron, I first heard about Jeanette through my son Finlay, she always gave him extra hot lunches because in her words “he was a growing boy”. Over the year that he went to Aberdeen she piled on that extra nourishment and he would take her little gifts once in awhile to say thank you. Spencer being a little quieter told me that she did the same to him. I ‘had’ to go meet this woman who was so good to my boys. Meeting Jeanette for the first time I was immediately drawn to her, she was genuine, kind, happy and from one mother to the other we gave each other a big hug. She was so supportive and encouraging to me throughout the years. We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful woman, she made a difference in the many lives she touched.

  • The Peters and Arrondell families on St. Maarten says:

To the Boyarchuk, Saunders and Carty families, we share your grief as death will never be a friend, even though it gives relief from suffering. During these trying times, we encourage you to look to the God of all comfort according to 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. This same God, Jehovah will also by means of his son Jesus Christ see to it that sickness, sorrow and death will be no more. Rev. 21:3-4. And since your wife, mother, sister, friend Jeanette has paid the wages of sin, Jehovah also promises that all those in his memory will be awaken from death to live right here on this earth when it is transformed into the beautiful paradise, as He intended for us. And he cannot lie, so you can fully trust that one day, if you will be able to see Jeanette again if you embrace that wonderful hope for the future.
May Jehovah give you the strength and comfort you need and ensure that you are surrounded with the love of family and friends, during this time.

  • Claudine A Saunders says:

God’blessings to you Uncle Ron and Tea! It took me some time before I can post something or really reach out. Aunt Jeanette was indeed an Angel and epicenter of her family. She was a source of strength to both my sister Nadia and myself during my dads incaceration. She always had the right things to say that made u feel better. She would always keep in touch and when I feel that I haven’t heard from her in a while I would check in. It really crumbled me when I received her voice note that said she didn’t have much time with us … I went numb. She has really left a mark with each of us and qualities we should all live by. Rest in peace my dear Aunty! Your love will always reign in our hearts! Love you Uncle Ron and Tea!xoxo
