We Remember

DESMOND, Sheila

Sheila’s spirit returned to her Creator on August 30th, 2018 in Kelowna B.C.  Her vibrant life continues on through her young daughter Saje.  She was well loved in this life by her father Tim (Martha) Desmond, her brother Mike and sisters Maureen (Dominique) and Paula (David) Ziebart, and their children Gabrielle, Nathan, Samuel, Justin, Rachel, Anya and Elyse.  Sheila is also survived by Saje’s dad, David Kunz, his wife Katharina and his parents Carolyn and Bob Kunz.  Sheila is now reunited with her mother Angela (Poelzer) Desmond who passed into the fullness of God’s presence in 2008.

We would like to thank Damiani, Christine, Jackie, Gisele and Carolyn for all the love and support they were able to offer Sheila in her home…you are family to us!  Heartfelt thanks are also extended to the loving community care nurses, amazing cancer care nurses on 4B and the caring staff at Hospice House.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sheila on Saturday, September 22nd at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave. in Kelowna, B.C. officiated by her uncle Msgr. Jerry Desmond.  A prayer vigil and optional viewing will be held on Friday September 21st at 7 pm in the church.

Sheila’s positive life energy touched so many people during her time growing up in Kamloops, living in Quebec, travelling abroad, working as a counsellor in Vancouver and raising Saje in Kelowna.  She lived life with great joy, was spirit-filled, and a true seeker of what it means to be human.  We are forever grateful to have loved and been loved by her.
