Condolences

  • Christine Ermuth says:

I was so sorry to learn of your Mother’s death. I knew her for only a few years when she lived at the Halcyon in Ottawa. She was such a voracious reader and I benefitted from her insights on books and her recommendations for reading. We also shared several dinners and movies. I was sorry when she left the Ottawa area.
Please accept my sincerest condolences. Christine Ermuth

  • Mary Alice MacNeil says:

I am very sorry to hear of Lesley’s passing. She was a wonderful woman with a kind and gentle spirit. I was fortunate to have her as my immediate supervisor at Bell Canada many years ago and was always impressed with her intelligence and thoughtfulness. She was very supportive of her staff and taught us a lot. She was also a devoted mother and I know she will be deeply missed. My sincere sympathy, Mary Alice MacNeil

  • Sister Jean Goulet, c.s.c. says:

    Dear Tarik, Peter and Susan,
Sincere sympathy on the death of your dear Mother. I have fond memories of when you lived on Withrow, in Ottawa. The last time I saw your Mother was at Centrepointe theatre and she seemed well, so it was a shock to read her obituary in today’s paper. Love and prayerful support to each of you. Sister Jean

Tarik (Erin), Sue (Stef) & Peter (Cecily):
My heart is broken for you and your children after hearing of the loss of your mother/grandmother Lesley. Her beautiful, kind and gentle energy truly filled a room. The memories, I feel blessed to have experienced with her, will be cherished forever. Her presence here on earth will be deeply missed but I know her light will continue to shine all around each of you always. May the love and life she shared with you bring you comfort during this surreal time and know that you have all of my love and support. It was an honor to know Lesley and I am so, so sorry for this huge loss.

  • Jodi Tomlinson says:

Tarik, Sue and Peter, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a beautiful person and her smile just filled you with a sense of welcoming, belonging and love. She was so kind and thoughtful and I was always so impressed with how much she loved life. I was thrilled for her when she made the move to Kelowna. When we saw her last year in Bolton, she just beamed when she talked about it, so I know her heart was full. She also beamed when talking about all of you, your partners and your kids. She loved you all so much and her legacy lives on in all of you. I’m so glad I got to meet her and get to know her over the years. The world was made better because she was in it.

  • Kathy Beamish says:

Hello, In the years I knew Lesley at Kanata I found her warm, welcoming and always ready to laugh. Good that she was surrounded by the warmth of family in Kelowna. Sincerely, Kathy Beamish

  • Pam Smith says:

Tarik, Peter, Susan. We, your cousins in Scotland, are so sorry for your loss. Lesley and I managed to keep up sporadic contact over the years and I remember her so well from London at our Gran’s; in Buckinghamshire when she and Eileen visited and then her more recent two visits to us in Carnoustie, 2007 and 2012. It was so lovely to have time to reconnect on those occasions and yes, books were a frequent topic of discussion. My Mum and Dad were so delighted that she was able to come and proudly show her family photos to us all. You will miss her greatly, we do too. With love and thoughts to you all. Pam, Nick, David, Carrie (Warren) and Ben (Slavushka).

  • Noreen Towns says:

I am heartbroken to hear of the loss of your mom. She was a good friend and co-worker at Bell Canada for many years and a cherished member of our “Ladies Who Read” book club. We missed her enormously when she left Ottawa to be closer to the family she spoke of so often with such pride and joy. My most sincere condolences to you all.

  • Rosemary Graves says:

Dear Tarik, Peter and Susan, I just learned that your mother died and am so very sorry for your loss. Your Mom was such a loving, thoughtful and accomplished person – with one of the sweetest smiles I have seen. You all seemed to have inherited it from her. When I last spoke with your Mom several years ago, it was wonderful to hear all her news about you and her life. She sounded very happy. I’m so sorry she is gone, and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Rosemary
