We Remember

ENNS, E. Dan

October 21, 1952 — November 4, 2022

Dan Enns passed into the presence of his Savior on November 4, 2022.

Dan’s departure shortly, after his 70th birthday, leaves a gap in so many of our lives. He will be greatly missed by his wife Carol; daughter Heather; son Darrell and his wife Miranda; and three grandchildren, Jacob, Jackson, and Adriana. His siblings and their spouses will also miss him dearly: Evelyn and Dave, Arnold and Agnes, Carl and Lorraine, and Neta and Ed. So will Carol’s family, many nephews and nieces and their families, friends, neighbours, business contacts, and his church community.

Born in Saskatchewan, Dan’s family moved to Kelowna, BC when he was a child. He worked together with his brother Carl building custom cabinetry in the Okanagan for many years until Dan’s glioblastoma cancer diagnosis and retirement in February 2021.

He enjoyed exploring the highways and back roads of BC and the western United States by motorcycle with his friends, hunting and fishing trips, repairing vehicles, and meals together with family and friends.

Dan’s family will remember him for his quick wit, enthusiasm for doing the activities he loved best, and his deeply dedicated support. No one could come up with a clever pun on the spot like Dan.

Dan was always making friends with anyone who crossed his path, no matter their age, background, or life situation. He enjoyed conversions about topics ranging from motors and ham radios to faith and the purpose of life.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna for the care and kindness shown both to Dan and our family during Dan’s stay at the hospice.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Okanagan Hospice House. Information on how to donate can be found on their website, hospicehousekelowna.com/how-to-give.

    Dear Carol and family,
Our heartfelt condolences to you all as you grieve the loss of Dan.
We are so sorry we couldn’t come to the celebration of life held this past Monday. We had to be in Winnipeg as Joe’s older brother passed away and is now with Jesus celebrating with Dan.
Pray God’s peace and comfort in the coming days.
