We Remember

GARDINER, Cole

February 6, 1992 — September 26, 2017

Cole died from colon cancer at the young age of 25. He leaves his parents Ron and Anisa, his sister Alia, his brother Trent, grandparents Kathy and Ali, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and his dog Archie, to grieve. He was tall, strong and athletic. He played hockey, rugby and football. He liked to go to concerts with his friends and do the things young men like to do. He graduated from NAIT in 2013 with a diploma in Instrumentation and was readily hired in the oil patch with an automation company. In August 2016 he was diagnosed with terminal Stage 4 colon cancer, which is extremely rare at that age.

He faced his impending death with a strength and calmness that amazed us all. Special thanks to Home Care nurses in Calgary and Kelowna, and to Dr. Glynn Jones in Kelowna who took action to get tumor related back surgery done at Vancouver General Hospital. Cole’s memorial service will be held at Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre, 253220 Bearspaw Road, Calgary, on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 3:00 pm.
