We Remember
GREGOR, Vernice Ruby
—
Went to be with the Lord Friday, August 28, 2015 at the age of 90. Survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Herb, sons Daryle Gregor (Holly Hardman) and Dale (Lynette) Gregor, daughter Carol (Randy) Hamel, grandchildren Christopher, Brian, Lori-lynn, Michael, Susan, Lindsey and Kurtis, and 10 great grandchildren. Sadly predeceased by her son Dwayne, one great grandson and her sisters Alva and June.
Vernice Ruby Norden was born on the family farm at Newdale, Manitoba, the middle of three sisters. Her father gave her the middle name Ruby after one of his prized Percheron mare, so it was no surprise that Vernice would have a lifelong love of horses and animals. Vernice went on to graduate from Briercrest Bible Institute in 1945, when it was still located at Briercrest, Sask. It is there that she meet Herb Gregor. They started their journey of 70 years together at Hilltop, Manitoba on May 4th, 1945.
Vernice’s love and caring went well beyond her family. She graduated from nursing school and nursed for many years in Canada and Australia, before becoming a reflexologist and alternative health care provider. Vernice loved her work, and the people she worked on, keeping in touch with many even after her body grew weary.
Vernice also loved animals, giraffes being her favorite, but many friends will remember the little lamb, Lollipop that stole her heart.
She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends.

My prayers and tears are with you at this time. She will always be looking down from above at all of you and at the ones she chose to make part of her family.
Carol and all your family,
Your wife/mom was a special woman to all those who were in her path. She touched the lives of many and left her mark. She won’t be forgotten. I am sending condolences from our family to yours. Hold tight to your memories.
Sending warm hugs of support…
Our deepest condolences to Herb and family. Vernice was a good friend and will always be remembered for her kindness and friendship she extended to us.. We will miss her
I am SO thankful I was able to see Auntie 18 months ago, as little did I know that would be the last time I would see her alive. Now I have to wait until Heaven to see her! What a Day that will Be! 🙂
I will miss my Auntie Vernice. She is the reason I am a Reflexologist and Herbalist today as she instilled in me the belief and the ability that Natural Healing has, and in fact gave me that name of my business; “Gifted Hands”.
I Love You Auntie, and I will miss you. Say Hi to my Mom, Dad, Warren, and all of our other loved ones….
Our deepest condolences to you Herb and to all of the family, especially Chris whom we know best and to Carol whom we have met from time to time. Vernice was a very special lady and we thoroughly enjoyed our times together, especially relating to her alternative therapies which benefitted so many including us. She will be missed and we look forward to meeting again in our heavenly home! May the Lord be your special comfort and strength.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Grandpa and the rest of the family. We have cherished every moment we have had with Grandma, and we believe it is the greatest blessing that she was able to know her great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with Herb, Chris and the rest of the family. Vernice was a special lady I first got to know partnering with her at “Bethlehem Star”. She was inspirational to me and will continue to be. I was
always touched by the way Herb gently cared for her and insured she kept on living and experiencing life even though it was very challenging , especially in these last few years. Herb you too are inspirational. May the God we all know and love comfort you in the days ahead. Vernice is now home!
Our deepest condolence to Herb and his Family. Vernice’s kindness and friendship will always be remembered by all the members of this Club. Her talents and advice were shared with many members. She will be missed.
we will so miss Auntie Vernice! She did so much for all of us and we can’t wait until we see her again! Uncle Herb ,just know we are praying for you in the coming weeks. I know this is going to be hard for you. For Carol,I know you will continue to take care of your Dad just like you did your Mom. You are a great caregiver! Our prayers and love go to you as you also learn to live without her. For the boys,we are so sorry and will be praying for you also. It is hard to live without those we love, but the wonderful thing about being a Christian is that we won’t be parted for long .What a wonderful time she must be having as she sees Jesus and all of her family that have gone on before her. Soon we will all be together again, never to part again!!! Love you all!!!
Dear Herb and Carol…Mary Hoffer called me to inform me of Vernice’s passing.
I have many fond memories of your Mom and the time we spent together as I booked appointments for her and answered the phone. Of the times she would work from our house. How she would just show up and I would tell her just to make herself at home.
I remember her dislike of snakes and our laughs over our pranks on each other.
She helped me through some difficult times.
She was a great lady who really dId have healing hands and helped many.
Just recently I have had people ask if I knew how she was. I am so sorry we lost contact with each other.
I also remember the times you and Dwayne came to work with your Mom and your gift that also helped so many people.
May God be your comfort at this difficult time. Our prayers are with you.
