Passed away peacefully at David Lloyd Jones Home in Kelowna on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the age of 95 and is now in heaven.  Survived by her loving husband Chris of 66 years; sons: Dale (Caulett) of Regina, SK, Glen of Calgary, AB and Gord (Charlene) of Botha, AB; daughter-in-law Sharon Weber (Dennis) of Kelowna, BC; sister-in-law Geraldine Seward of Lethbridge, AB; grandchildren: Paula (Denni) MacDowell, Jackie Jerrett (Duane Phillippi), Twyla Griesser (Gosha Kadotchnikov), step grandson Dana Jerrett, Paul Griesser, Christopher (Alma) Griesser, Crystal Griesser, Michael Griesser, Heather (Walter) Lucente; great grandchildren: Jasmine, Kieran, Destanee, Jaidan, Elouise, Autumn, Jessica and Levon; great, great grandson Severin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and very special family friends, Doreen and Wally Woloschuk .  Predeceased by son David and grandson Cory.

Josephine was born in Vanguard, SK. and moved to Regina where she worked for 10 years after completing her schooling. There she met Chris, the love of her life and husband of 66 years.  They farmed at Minton, SK. for 22 years and had 4 sons.  They subsequently moved to Kelowna in 1971, raised their family, became deeply involved in their church community and cherished the many friendships that they made.  Jo was a true friend to everyone she became involved with, never judged but rather accepted them with open arms.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at David Lloyd Jones Home for the tremendous care that was provided to Josephine and continues to be provided to Chris.

  • Gayleen EMERSON Warkentin says:

My sincere sympathy, I’ve only very recently become aware of Mrs. Griessers passing. She was the sweetest and dearest lady I know. She quickly became a good friend of my Moms. She was so special to me when I lost my Mom at 16, she got ladies together to finish a quilt my Mom had began, and gave it to me. She sent me a birthday card every year (on time) up until these very last yrs. When I knew she was getting older and more forgetful. She was like a Mother to me. Always thinking the very best, encouraging and supporting. My sympathies ESP. To you Glenn, and Gord, whom I knew the best. I too, grieve her passing. I will always remember how she took me in.
