Condolences

  • Carol-Ann Rolls says:

Life and death is a process made by God and we can’t change it. So, I pray to God to give us strength to recover from this announcement.
We begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too wonderful to forget. For Uncles have a special role. Not being our father, they can be a friend and a supporter in a different way than anyone else in our lives. They are both a relative and a companion; one of the few people able to be both. Whether they are crazy and weird and only seen at holidays or our buddy and mentor, the loss of an uncle is a particularly hard one.
Uncle Jeff’s loss, however, is filled with the years of happy memories we had, and that special connection that belongs only to uncles. I fondly recall the 55 plus years that Uncle Jeff was in our family. From the first time my sisters and I met him at the door with kittens in our arms to the last visit we had in person last year – the pubs and winery tours and tastings, picking strawberries, the Diana and David statues that shook up the Wintergreen Ave neighbourhood, the trips to the island for holidays, the Legion work and both being honoured with a Jubilee Medal, watching him parachute from a plane in Edmonton, playing with Fritz the dash hound in the snow and so much more.
Jeff devoted much of his life to community service and philanthropy and was most generous with his time in helping others, be it mentoring youth in the Cadet program, or sharing rose growing tips with the Garden Club, serving on the Colour Guard of the Legion and as Branch Executive or Director with the Alzheimer’s Association.
He was a man of wisdom. His presence will forever live deep inside our hearts. He was the utmost gentleman and a very special person. He will be remembered by many for his wit, kindness and generosity. Those who encountered him, without exception, will remember him.
Of all the many blessings, however great or small, to have had you as uncle was the greatest one of all. The family chain has been broken now and nothing seems the same. But as God takes us one by one, the chain will link again.

  • Marguerite Bowser says:

In memory of my very dear brother, Frank,
All I have now are wonderful memories of our life together.
    An Englishman you were born
    A true Canadian you died.
    God Bless
    Rest in Peace.
from Sister Marguerite, nieces Anne and Laura, nephew Paul and Lynn, Great Niece Rebecca and Craig, Great nephew Lee and Great-great niece Poppy.
