Passed away suddenly on January 21, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Survived by her loving family: sisters Erika and Eva Maria; brother Kurt; nieces and nephews: Susan, Connie, Daniel Jr. of Kelowna, Ute of Kamloops, Harald of Toronto, Belinda, Fred and Norman of Toronto; great nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Mike, Scott of Kelowna, Kassandra, Colton, Chelsea of Winfield, Katrina, Nikolas, Tatjana of West Kelowna, Brittany, Devin, Kailey, Drew of Kelowna, Kyra, Devon, Karl of Toronto, Robin, Rachel and Hudson of Toronto; great, great nieces and nephews: Kallum, Wyatt of Kelowna and Audrey of Toronto. Predeceased by her sister Hanni and brother Hans in Germany and her brother Sigy in Toronto.
Meta was a nurses aide in Toronto and later retired to Kelowna, BC to be closer to her sister and brother. She enjoyed the outdoors: hiking, skiing, bird watching, botany and she loved strolling along her beautiful park. This park was on Springfield Road and she would walk everyday, feeding the ducks. She also loved to paint sceneries and she made the “best” apple pies. She will be dearly missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the park on Springfield Road in July 2017 so her family from Toronto can attend. A note will be sent out to family and friends when a date and time is set. If you wish to make a donation in Meta’s memory, please donate to a Park or Bird Sanctuary, as this was her passion. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”
