In Sharon’s delightful memory, please come to her celebration of life dressed in bright colors! Sharon was born in Hythe, Alberta. Her family moved to Smithers in 1968 where she met John at a High School Dance and he swept her off her feet. They married in 1971 and have been dancing and laughing together ever since.  They raised a family in Kamloops BC for 16 years finally settling in Kelowna for the last 26 years.  During her 26 years in Kelowna Sharon excelled in the retail industry including owning 2 businesses: Maid in the Okanagan and iHem (clothing alteration).  The last 8 years of her battle with Cancer was spent travelling, reconnecting with old friends, enjoying a glass of wine or two with John on the shores of Okanagan Lake and taking every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren. Her loving heart, bright spirit and beautiful smile will be missed by her many family members and friends whom were just like family to her.  Special thanks to Dr. Derek Adam as well as the nurses and staff at the Central Okanagan Hospice House for taking such amazing care of Sharon these last few weeks… In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House at 2035 Ethel St, V1Y 2Z6, Kelowna BC.  For those wishing watch the live streaming of the service you may do so by clicking the live stream link below. Condolences

  • Devon Ethier says:

Uncle John, Charlotte, Brandie, Kornel and your families are in my heart and mind. My condolences on the passing of Sharon. I remember when I was little mom often called me Sharon by accident saying I reminded her of my auntie. I always was quite proud of that. She was the first person I ever knew to go outside and jog. On her visits she would often let me tag along on my bike. I believe she is one of the people to inspire me to run and think of her often when I do so. Her spirt and drive will be missed.

  • Joanne Willmott says:

So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing Charlotte. She was a great cheerleader in those days we ran together at Parkcrest and she was always so welcoming to me at your house after school 😉 I loved her smile. xo

  • Stacy Gyger says:

Char, you and your family are in my thoughts and heart. I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was a beautiful, kind, funny and loving lady. She made me feel like part of your family while we were growing up in our elementary school days. I looked up to her. Always so fashionable, balancing a career, kids and a house. She did it all! I remember spending Sunday afternoons traveling to Vernon to attend church and spend time with a lot of your family members. All these are wonderful memories of a special family and mom. My prayers go out to you all. I can still see her smile:)

  • Gil and Darlene Hegel says:

To Sharon’s Family and extended family, we would like to extend our deepest sympathy. Although our paths haven’t crossed in adult life, I grew up not too far from Sharon’s family in Valhalla. It is wonderful to read this story of her life and know hers was a life well lived with lots of joy. We will be thinking of you. Gil and Darlene(Mosand)Hegel.

  • Bonnie Zrobek says:

  • Barb (Wright) Guillon says:

John and family, Frank and I are so sorry for your loss. Sharon was a beautiful person inside and out. She was the 1st to see our children when they became a part of our family. We lost contact for 29 years and I am so glad that I was able to reconnect with her (and you) 2 years ago. It was great seeing her enjoying life through FB photos. Always smiling. She will be missed.
