We Remember

LAWRENCE, David James

Dave passed away suddenly on April 24, 2016 at the age of 67. He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years Carol; his sisters Lynda Russell of Coquitlam, BC and Wendy O’Brien of Vancouver, BC and her children Shawn and Megan O’Brien; his father James Lawrence, born 1916 in Revelstoke, BC and nephews Scott and Ted Russell.  Predeceased by his mother Irene Lawrence.  Dave was with the Burnaby Fire and Fire Prevention office for 30 years.  Dave will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.  No service by request.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 26331 STN BRM B, Toronto, ON M7Y 4R1 or Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5L3 or BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9.  If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”

    Dave you were one of the best Captains I ever worked with on the BFD. I never sat in your chair even after you retired. You treated everyone equally and with respect. I miss you on my walks across Burnaby when we would run into each other. But I know know you will always be there.
