I am absolutely heartbroken at this news and your loss. I worked with Jason for several years at The Daily Courier. I have seen him a few time in the past years and he always had that big boyish grin that left you smiling. He was a gentle giant that will be missed by anyone that knew him.

  • Charisse Lansing says:

I was deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Jason. I will always very clearly remember Jason fondly and I feel fortunate that I had the pleasure of knowing him. I first met Jason as a colleague, working at the Daily Courier. He always had an easy smile. He was quiet and easy going and always ready to help me, especially when I first started there. He had a great sense of humour. He got along with all of us. I re-connected with Jason many years later when encountering him in his son, Trent’s Kindergarten class. We were both volunteering home reading for the Kindies. Just the same friendly, easy-going demeanor. He was so happy to see me and gave me a big hug. I can still clearly remember this burly teddy bear sitting on these tiny kindergarten chairs smiling and patiently reading with each little one. I am so grateful that I got to see him then again. My heart goes out, especially to Trent. Jason was an excellent Daddy and role model for his son. To Jason’s parents and family, please accept my deepest condolences for your family’s loss. May the memories of Jason give you peace and comfort. Rest easy, Jason. You will not be forgotten. Regards, Charisse Lansing

Dear Jim & Lana & Family; David and I are very saddened at the sudden passing of your dear Son, Brother, Uncle and Nephew, Jason. We will be returning from Vegas so won’t be able to attend the funeral. We pray for you and may God’s light shine on your family.

  • Kathryn Gamble says:

I am deeply saddened to hear that Jason is gone. We worked together at Vista Roofing and seeing him and his big smile was a highlight of my day. His humour and caring and huge love for Trent made him one of the best men I’ve ever met. I am so very sorry for your loss.

  • Phil White says:

I am so sorry, Trent, Jim, Lana, Joanna, and the rest of the family. It has been a long, long time since Jason and I last spoke, but I still hold dear many fond memories of him. I remember him as a good friend, and a good person. I recall many conversations with him, particularly about music, which was something we both enjoyed. I am thankful for the time I knew Jay, and his positive influence on my life. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.

  • Clive and Brenda Gilbert says:

I am so sorry to hear of Jason’s passing. I worked with him for several years at Vista Roofing and truly appreciated him. My sincerest condolences to all of his family!

  • Paul Koltronis says:

    Dear Jim, Lana and Joanna,
Despite the years, this news weighs very heavily. I recall the many fond memories of Jason and spending time in your house. I recall how much you all loved him and how lucky he was to have your love. To this day, those close to me would tell you that I still refer to Jason as my best friend even though I had not seen him for a long time. From best men at each others weddings some almost 30 years ago to talking about life, philosophy, or just plain chilling. Camping in the summers, flagging highways, working at the Courier, taking our matching 65 Mustangs on Bernard on warm summer nights, and too many other great memories. I remember Jason by his smile, genuine good nature, loyalty, and gift for gab and making people laugh and smile. Too many special memories to count. I’m looking at a picture of him and his mom dancing at a distant wedding and it’s really tough to keep my composure. I really feel for all of his family but especially for his mom Lana as I remember how much she loved him as only a mother can love her son… a special thing.
Sending you wonderful and positive memories of your son and brother Jason to hopefully ease you in this difficult time.

  • Christina Howton says:

    Dear Lowey Family

On behalf of our MBSS Grad 88 class we are sending our sincerest heartfelt condolences to you and everyone who knew and loved Jason.

We are just starting to plan our 30th reunion for 2018 and we were very saddened to hear this news. We were looking forward to connecting and Jason’s warm smile and great sense of humour will be missed by so many.

On a personal note I grew up in Lakeview and would often walk home with Jason and some of the other kids in the neighborhood. Jason had a big heart, smile and laugh. My deepest sympathies to all.

    Warmest regards,

Christina & the Class of ’88
