We Remember
MACARA, Florence
May 22, 1935 — July 12, 2016
Florence Macara passed away on July 12, 2016, in Kelowna British Columbia, at the age of 81 years old. She is predeceased by her loving daughter, Debbie Michelle Macara who passed away on February 18, 1982 and her brother, Gordon Carroll, who passed away recently on August 3, 2016.
Deeply mourning her loss and all that she was is her daughter, Brenda Gay Bennett, her son, Robert Macara, and her three grandchildren: Stephen Harvey, Michael Harvey and Andrew Harvey. She also leaves behind her sister Gladys Dooley and her brother Howard Carroll as well as many friends made throughout her lifetime.
Florence was born in Cabri Saskatchewan to Clive and Carrie Carroll, and loved by all. She remained in Saskatchewan during her childhood years. It wasn’t until later years, she moved to Regina Saskatchewan to start her life into adulthood.
Florence married in 1961 and during her married life they had three children. In 1972, she chose to move herself and her three children to Westbank British Columbia, to continue on with her new life with great strength and determination. She had been working for the Royal Bank of Canada before she left Regina, and continued on with the Bank until she retired many years later. Her dedication to the Bank did not go unnoticed and she made many friends who she still held dear long after she retired.
She loved going to the Casino, walking through City Park in Kelowna and shopping, but her greatest love of all was her Grandchildren. She had a special relationship with each of them and loved them deeply. She lived life on her own terms with style and grace like no other, and in the end when it was time, she left on those same terms.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Brenda and family. It is never easy to lose a Mom, a Grandmother, a mentor. I wish I could have gotten to know her with her stay and care with you Brenda. The times you were out for a stroll were happy moments. Cherish your memories. Hugs, Ella.
Dear Brenda and family
I am so very sorry to hear that your mom has passed away. My deepest sympathy to you.Grief never ends….but it changes, it is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is neither a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith…..it is the price you pay for unconditional love. Your memories will live on in your mom and you will never forget her. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and always. We were best friends in school, and my mom and dad loved you like one of their own.I am sure now you mom will rest in peace.
Big hugs to you, from your little playhouse buddy { Charlene}
Praying the Lord will comfort you and your family during this time . Bill and May McKenzie
