We Remember
MAURER, Molly Frances
March 6, 1924 — January 3, 2017
We have said good-bye to our wonderfully spirited, adventurous and generous mother and grandmother. Our lives have all been greatly enriched from having shared them with her.
Molly was born in her parents’ home in Duff, Saskatchewan. She later married George, with whom she shared her life for 68 years. They lived and worked in the Duff and Melville areas until 1971, at which time they moved to Kelowna. They spent their remaining years enjoying the Okanagan lifestyle, surrounded by children, grandchildren and many friends. Molly’s kitchen became a family legend catering to friends and family alike and, on a regular basis, virtual strangers.
Molly was predeceased by her husband George (2012), her brother Gerald, and her parents Louie and Christina Gottinger.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Carol Kuzyk, her three children, Judy (Barry), Brian (Irene), and Warren (Ann Marie), plus five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Steinruck, and also to the many care givers at Brandt’s Creek Mews for their outstanding commitment to Molly’s comfort for the past seven and a half years.
A family celebration will be held at a future date.
If you wish to honour Molly’s memory, please consider a donation toward Alzheimer’s research.
If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”
