We Remember

NEUFELD, John R.

July 12, 1936 — September 9, 2017

On September 9, 2017, John (age 81) went peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father.  While we rejoice in knowing he is with his Saviour, he will be deeply missed by his wife Carole (whom he just celebrated 60 years with); son Terry (Wendy) Neufeld of Gleichen, AB; daughter Tammy (Ray) Lloyd of Kelowna, BC; grandchildren Derek Moc, Scott (Laurie) Lloyd, Casandra (Nasri) Martinson, Melissa (Marco) Jensen, Jordana Lloyd and Brandon Neufeld; and great-grandchildren Maddy, Vinny and Creston.  He is also survived by brothers Peter (Verna), Jake and Wally Neufeld, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, all of whom loved him dearly.

He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Elizabeth Neufeld, and his daughter Gwenn Moc.

John (Dad, Gramps or JR), left a true example of what love really is.  First for his Saviour, Jesus Christ, whom he accepted as a teenager.  Next, for the love of his life, Carole, whom he loved and cared for for 60 years.  Then for his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, whom he nurtured, supported and faithfully prayed for.  There were many others whose lives he touched by his warmth, caring, gentle spirit and friendship.  He had a smile for everyone, always!

John’s family would like to thank the wonderful nurses of 6 West and the Hospice House for the excellent care he received.  Many thanks to Dr. Jan McIntosh for the personal care that went above and beyond.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held at Ridgeview Evangelical Missionary Church, 1907 Hollywood Road, Kelowna, BC on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcomed by the Kelowna Gospel Mission where John was a board member and volunteer for many years.

  • Carey Kehler says:

I am so sorry to hear that John passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with the family today.

I found a few photos from John’s retirement party in Kelowna that I thought you might like to have. Maybe I sent you a set of photos after his retirement party, but I found mine last night. They are high enough resolution that you can print them as 8×10 in pictures at any photo kiosk.

  • Tammy Joy and Wes Epp says:

We are so sorry for your loss Tammy. You and all of your family will continue to be in our prayers at this difficult time. May you sense God’s loving presence at this time.
