We Remember

PATON, Cameron

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the tragic accidental passing on July 18th of our beloved son, brother and grandson. Cam will be deeply missed by his loving parents Ian and Paula, sister and best friend Macaila, girlfriend Krissy Ritchie, grandparents Tom and Muriel Franklin, Uncle Michael (Lorraine), cousin Michelle, grandparents Flo and Jerry Paton, Uncle Fraser (Liz), cousins Leanne and Kelsey, Uncle Michael (Elaine), cousins Murray and Erin and extended family in Scotland and Canada as well as many special friends and co-workers.

Cam lived in Prince George, BC for most of his life and graduated from Kelly Road Secondary in 2008. He moved to Kelowna in 2014 to be closer to his family and his work. Cam was employed by Protec Petroleum in the construction of gas stations and fueling sites. Cam loved his job which took him all over the province of BC.

He loved life and lived it to the fullest. One of his greatest passions was music which always had to be “played to the MAX”. Cam had a cheerful happy outlook on life and was always ready to pitch in when something needed to be done. He believed in the good in people and would often pick up strangers and help them on their way with a ride and a meal. He was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed.

Please join us for a celebration of Cam’s life on July 30th at Springfield Funeral Home in Kelowna at 10:00am to be followed by a gathering at Two Eagles Golf Course in Westbank. For those who plan to attend please wear bright colors.

In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

The world has changed without you in it – your laugh, your love of life and your smile that is so contagious one cannot help but smile back. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Thank you for touching our lives.

  • Richard Yellowlees says:

Cam was an absolutely wonderful person but a pretty poor golfer, which in my mind made him perfect. And perfect is how I will always remember him. Take care Cam – see you on the other side.

  • Mama H says:

This news is beyond sad, the great seem to always leave loved ones behind and I think Cam was a great man! I knew him for a very short time, but in that short time, he had offered me help on many occasions, I always seen him smiling and happy, especially the tike he went golfing with his dad , they both told me it was the best “worst” day of golfing ever! He was so proud of his new black dodge and knew that I was pleased with my dodge so he had to ” size them up lol the one thing that always made me smile when I saw cam was that he was so kind,so happy and very outgoing. He IS a very special man. To Macalia, his parents and his gf… know that he is not gone , he is not above ,he is right beside you..wanting you to laugh, and to live life to the fullest , cam would want that . Sending you all my biggest hugs and condolences to you all… Love Mama H

This has been one of the saddest days of my life. It so difficult to say ‘good-bye’ to Cam who was such a vibrant, goodhearted, hard-working, young man. Everyone has been profoundly shaken by his untimely death. Cam and my son, Scott, were very good friends during some very-important years and adventures. Cam’s death hit Scott very hard. Thank you to Paula, Ian and Macaila for such a wonderful service and reception.
