ROSENTHAL, Florence Frieda

July 25, 1946 — November 20, 2017

Mrs. Florence Frieda Rosenthal of Hinton, Alberta passed away on November 20, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Florence was born on June 5, 1927 to Adolph and Matilde Siepert in Calmar, Alberta.  Florence met and married Reynold Rosenthal on July 25, 1946.  Over the years Florence had the opportunity to live in many locations in both Alberta and British Columbia.  They lived in New Sarepta, Hay Lakes, Gwynne, Wetaskiwin and Kelowna for 40 years.  She had moved to Hinton 1 and a half years ago to be closer to her family.  Family and friends were always very important to her and she could put many of the younger people to shame with her sharp recollection of names, dates and events.  Florence will be sadly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.  Florence is survived by her sons Dennis (Laura) Rosenthal of Wetaskiwin, Alberta and Randall Rosenthal of Hinton, Alberta, four grandchildren; Dea Reid of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Dori-Ann (Shawn) Porter of Lamont, Alberta, Reynold Rosenthal and Christopher Rosenthal both of Edmonton, Alberta as well as three great-grandsons, nieces, nephews and dear friends.  Florence was predeceased by her husband Reynold on February 19, 2014, her parents Adolph and Matilde, two sisters Hattie and Elsie and by her two brothers Walter and Edmund.  A graveside funeral service will be held at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Patricia Giannelia of the Christ Lutheran Church in Kelowna officiating. For further information please contact Springfield Funeral Home at 250-860-7077. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Florence, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada 110-1525 Carling Ave. Ottawa, Ontario, K1Z 8R9.

The family would like to express a special Thank-You to Pastor Giannelia of Christ Lutheran Church, where Florence attended for many years, to Foothills Memorial Chapel – Edson Funeral Home and Springfield Funeral Home for all of their kind assistance with getting Florence home to rest.
