We Remember

SEDMAK, Juliana

July 31, 1931 — December 7, 2015

It is with profound sadness that we announce Julia Sedmak passed away Dec 7, 2015 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 84 at Sun Pointe Village, Kelowna, BC with family and caring staff at her side. She is survived by her Sons Jerry (Anke) and Andy Sedmak and daughter Anne Watt (Fraser) and grandchildren Jenna Sedmak, Lindsey (Mike) Woodward, Jordan Sedmak, Shannon Sedmak, Jennica Sedmak and Great Grandchildren Taylor and River Woodward.  Julia is predeceased at a very young age by her parents, son Branko Sedmak (1977) and husband Peter Sedmak (2011), Brother Johan Bratusha, Sisters Maricia Greflin and Sabina Brisar.

Julia was born and raised in Slovenia, married at young age of 18 and immigrated to Canada in 1956. She absolutely devoted her life to looking after and caring for her family. Being with her children and grandchildren was the most precious thing to her and provided her love, laughter and happiness. She was a very caring, compassionate and loving human being and always put the needs of others before her own. She loved the simple things in life. With a keen sense and love for traditional European cooking, she always prepared a feast fit for a King and Queen whenever anyone stopped by. Julia loved socializing, nature, gardening, especially flowers and music.

We give special thanks to Sun Pointe Village staff for their extra special care that they bestowed for Julia’s needs.
