SITTER (nee Kostiw), Lily Anne (Shandalla)

December 23, 1939 — March 31, 2018

Lily fell asleep in the Lord on March 31, 2018 at the age of 78. She is survived by her loving partner Leo Brazeau; daughters Carolyn J. Shandalla, Marie E. Shandalla (Robert Bruce Manery), Marlene E. Sitter; sons John C. Shandalla, Michael E. (Lotta) Shandalla; grandchildren Karrah Fletcher, Emma, Charlie, Sophie Shandalla and Olivia Sitter; loving pets Georgie, Tasha and Missy; sisters Olga (Raymond) Nolette, Jane Fillion, Stella (Rolf) Schuchardt, Toni (Karl) Schuchardt; brother Edward (Colleen) Kostiw. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Sophie Kostiw (nee Topilko) and sister Suzie Kostiw. Lily was born December 23, 1939 in Ranfurly, AB on the family farm. She spent time with her sister Olga in Banff, then they went to Whitehorse where Lily met and married Charlie Shandalla.  They owned Marsh Lake Lodge before moving to Mission, BC.  She had a liver transplant in 1990 and moved to Kelowna in 1999.  Many dear family, friends and pets made Mom’s life special.  Thank you to all who touched her heart. Prayers will be recited on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 7:00 pm with the Divine Liturgy to follow on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 9:30 am both at the Dormition of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 1091 Coronation Ave., Kelowna, BC.     Wish to give our condolences to the Family for the loss of their mother and my Aunties and Uncle Eddie for the loss of their sister. “I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of your mother.” I have so many fond memories of my summers spent with the family and cooking up a storm with Aunty Lily.

    Well technically a cousin-in-law, we loved aunt Lily Anne. She was such a warm and generous welcoming hearted person. My life has been enriched by knowing her. Aunt Lily Anne, I know you’re watching over us now.

    So sorry to hear of Lily’s passing . I’m so glad we were able to see her 2 yrs. ago . we caught up on lots of old gossip. We had a very good time in Kelowna. Our sincere Condolences to all the family, May God be with you .
