TANNER, Harold Terrence (Terry) Dodds

April 10, 1936 — July 18, 2017

Terry passed peacefully on July 18th at sunrise. His parents CR and Gertrude Tanner, sister Mary McCarthy and first wife Dixie, predeceased him. He is survived by his partner of 27 years Suzy Clark, his children Caroline (Michael), Patrick (Cicily) and Mary; Suzy’s daughters Tory and Kate (Terry) and his six grandchildren, Katherine, Alexander, Autumn, Esme, Ryan and Piper, along with relatives and friends in B.C. and Calgary. Terry attended Strathcona School for Boys in Calgary, Trinity College School in Ontario and the UBC School of Architecture, from which he graduated in 1964 as an architect. Terry was a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, was involved in Habitat Forum ’76 in Vancouver and was a member of planning commissions in Vancouver and Calgary. He was instrumental in the development of Vancouver’s Granville Island Public Market and Calgary Farmers’ Market and was a member of the Rotary Club of Peachland. His family thanks those who looked out for him, particularly from the Rotary Club of Peachland, Westwood Retirement Resort and the Renal Dialysis unit at Kelowna General Hospital.  A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 3 pm at the Heritage Park Pavilion, Beach Ave., Peachland, B.C.
