Condolences

  • Jetta Williams says:

On February 4th the world lost a truly amazing person. I am so sorry for your loss. I am truly thankful for having known Mr T for the past 33 years. He filled me with a passion and love for the arts and will continue to inspire me daily. Thank you for having shared him.

  • Pamela Morley says:

    To Mr. Tod’s Family,
I am so very sad to hear of Mr. Tod’s passing. I attended KSS for Grade 11 (1980-81) and Grade 12 (1981-82). He was one of my most influential teachers, helping to shape my interests and career choice. The best class I ever took in high school was his Commercial Design 12 class where we learned about graphic arts. What fun it was to develop and print photographs in the KSS darkroom, and use the layout skills I learned from him in the yearbook production. He even entered a piece of my work to the Kelowna and District Arts Council (KADAC) and my art was published in their magazine! He was a favourite teacher because he was interested and he cared. When I became a teacher, I was able to use what I had learned from him in my classroom, as well as teach my students graphic art and layout skills. I hope my memories of him as my teacher bring a bit of comfort to you during this difficult time.

  • Bruce Clarke says:

My sincerest condolences to the Tod family. I also attended K.S.S. from 1980-1982 and many of my best memories were from Mr. Tod’s Graphic Communications and Commercial Design classes. Not only an exceptional and gifted mentor, he treated his students as equals, peers and often, friends. He taught us new and interesting ways to view our world and left that much the wiser and better. I think I can share and echo the sentiments of most of his students when I say that though he has left us his legacies will live on for many years to come.

  • The Dixons says:

We will miss Steve and his dry sense of humour and always enjoyed his love of retro music. We took this photo of Steve and Lora at their daughter Andrea’s marriage to Ryan.

  • Carol Magri (Finley) says:

Steve and I grew up together. He lived across the lane and we were like brother & sister. We went through elementary & high school together and he was my protector. We crossed paths again in 2008 and brought each other up to date. He was fun, adventuresome, artsy, talented and kind. I am not into platitudes and words are not enough to speak from my heart. Good bye, my friend. (Steve is in bottom row 2nd from left I am in the middle with black sweater)

  • Cyril Chalk says:

I am so very sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. We were colleagues together at KSS for many years. He was a wonderful teacher and a great colleague. It was a privilege to have known and worked with him. My sincerest condolences to the family

  • Neal & Susan Lam says:

    Dear Lora,

Susan and I were shocked to hear of Steve’s sudden passing. We didn’t hear about it until after the memorial service and would have been in attendance. Please accept our condolences at this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you.
