We Remember

TREETER, Gertrud Gesine Luise (nee Knust)

April 28, 1926 — January 26, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of Gertrud Treeter announces her passing, after a hard fought battle, on January 26, 2016.  Predeceased by her husband Werner of 61 years (2010).   Left to cherish her memory are her children: Rita Trevelyan (George), Lennart Treeter (Laurie), Vera Tickell (Stephen), grandchildren: Christine Trevelyan (Jim), Darcy Trevelyan (Majorie), Mercedes Treeter, Montanna Treeter (Bryce), Layne Treeter;  great grandchildren: Chantal and Carter Gillespie, Jaya, Raelynn and Taylor Swan, extended family and many long term friends.

Born April 28, 1926 in Rablinghausen, Germany, moved to Bremen in 1934, and to Canada in 1951, settling in Edmonton until moving to Kelowna in 1974.

To our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother (Oma)

The depths of sorrow we cannot tell, of the loss of one we loved so well;

and while you sleep a peaceful sleep, your memory we shall always keep.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep gratitude the many expressions of love, kindness and concern for her from her Doctors, nurses, caregiver team and neighbors.

A Celebration of life will be held, Saturday, February 20, 2016, 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna B.C. V1Y 5V8. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity in Gertrud’s honor would be greatly appreciated.
