Jim was a beloved and dear friend of all our family and of my late father (leo) and I especially. As I grew older, I saw him as a true “renaissance man” who was equally adept at all types of farming and the electrical trade as he was at understanding the business world and the stock market. Jim remains one of the smartest and most clever people I have ever known. I’m not sure he realized what a positive influence he was on me as a young person. I will often bring to mind some of the poignant and insightful things he’d said over the years. I feel lucky and blessed to have known him. Jim had a tremendous sense of humor and exuded a joy that was quite infectious…..he was indeed a colorful character! By his own admission, Jim would say he was far from a ‘saint’ but he was a good man at his core, and an honest man, and that counts for a lot. He was a man who loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. He worked as hard as any man I’ve ever known and never gave up on a cause. A man of Jim’s character can be a hard thing to find in the modern world and his spirit will be missed. I know he’d roll his eyes and scoff at reading this line…but we are all a little better off for having known him. Jimmy, you touched a lot of us in a very special way and I will never forget you.

    Your friend,
    MEG

    Hello Kathleen and family,
We’re sorry to hear of “Buster” passing. My memories of Auntie Ruth and Buster back in Olds are very special. In the past few years our visits were few but very nice to have stayed in touch. We’ll miss him popping by but will always remember.

    Dear Kathleen and Family:
Although we only knew you Father for less than a year, he was without doubt, a special friend and neighbour. We discussed many topics and we always found him to be knowledgeable as well as willing to share his thoughts and advice. Many of our discussions concerned “lighter” matters and we very much enjoyed his ever present humor. He will be missed in The Greens community. Please know that all of you are in our thoughts as you go through this difficult time.
    With our sincere sympathy,
    Louise & Larry Proke

We’re saddened to hear of our dear friend Jim’s passing. It was always fun to share conversations with him, especially about American politics. He was better versed in our politics than most people we know. Also, he was fun to joke with and we had so many good laughs. We’ll truly miss Jim and Geri as well.

Very sorry to hear our friend, Jim, passed away. We enjoyed many years (winters) with him and Gerri in Arizona. Many good times that we will never forget. Twice they visited us in Minnesota. He was fun to visit with. We miss both of them. His family has our sincere sympathy.
