We Remember

VAN DER MEER, Jo-Anne

January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970

January 11th 2017 our dear Jo-Anne lost her courageous battle against cancer.  Jo-Anne Van Der Meer, was a loving mother, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and friend and very much loved. Born on October 25th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she grew up in Calgary and Kelowna. She was one of two girls born to Madeleine Poulin and Hugh McFadyen. She was sweet smiling with the loveliest giggle and loved gardening. She worked at a number of businesses and is fondly remembered by them. She was married and later divorced and had a beautiful son named Chad. She was helped greatly at the end of her life by her companion Jim Montagnon. She is predeceased by her mother Madeleine Poulin Strachan and her father Hugh McFadyen. Jo-Anne leaves behind her son Chad Van Der Meer of Calgary AB., her sister Terri-Lynn McFadyen-Tarquin of Nice, France, her aunts, uncles and cousins. The family is grateful to all those who made her life easier by being there for her, including the staff at Vernon and Kelowna General Hospitals and the Central Okanagan Hospice House. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday January 22nd at 2 :30 at 1083 Sunset Drive Cascade Lounge Waterscapes. Please bring a light snack.
