We Remember

WAHL, Erhardt

In loving memory of Erhardt Wahl who went to walk with the Lord on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the age of 86. This will be one great meeting between the greatest builder and the greatest carpenter of all eternity.

Erhardt made a life in Kelowna with his talent of wood work and construction. Trained as a wood worker in Germany at the age of 14, he came to Canada on September 10, 1951 and created a career and life that showed his talents, strong integrity, morals and faith in God.

Erhardt will be lovingly missed by his wife of 32 years, Anne Wahl, his soul mate whom he will wait for at the gates of Heaven like the gentleman and great husband he was. He is predeceased by his father Christian Wahl and mother Christina Roloff Wahl whom he loved with all of his heart and Erhardt even passed on the day of his mother’s birthday. He leaves behind his eldest daughter, Annelise Wahl Bolke, from Germany whom he carried always close in his heart, her husband Jorge, who was as close to him as a son, and grandchild, Patrick Erhardt Hinderer (Suzanne). He will also be sadly missed by his daughter Samantha Michaels who stuck by his side through good times and in times of need no matter what and the sparkle in his life, his granddaughter Angelina Michaels. Erhardt’s cousin Wilma Roloff Wild and husband Werner Wild will also terribly miss him. He is also survived by his younger brother Erwin Wahl & sister in law Margaret Wahl. Although estranged for more than a decade, Erhardt also had 3 children from a previous marriage Doloris Schultz, Sandra Pricic & Douglas Wahl. He will also be sadly missed by his best friend of 67 years Mr. Albert Stober and wife Sandra Stober, and all of the Stober family whom Erhardt felt as his own.

A special thank you to Dr. Outram and Dr. Bakala for the wonderful care they always showed Erhardt. As well, a special thank you to the Speech Pathology Unit at the Kelowna General Hospital. Thank you also to the First Responders of the Kelowna Fire Department and the ambulance service. A very big thank you to the nurses at KGH on floor 4B- they are truly angels of kindness.

Viewing for family and friends will be from 7 – 9pm on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

A celebration of Erhardt’s life will be held at the Springfield Funeral Home on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10am.

Officiating by Pastor Tim Schroeder.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations should be made in Erhardt Wahl’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Sending our love to Delores, Doug and our beautiful Sandy.. I have such great memories of swimming in your pool on Barnaby Rd and your dad cooking these huge steaks on the barbecue whilst your Amazing mom Irma made drinks in crystal glasses .. What a fun time your dad created for all us kids!!

  • Hilda Roloff Wohlford says:

So sorry for your loss. Just found out from my brother Emil Roloff, wishing I had heard earlier. He was a great man, actually my godfather. My memories were always his generous gifts as Christmas when I was a child and his hospitality when I came to visit with my family.
