We Remember

WHITE, James Patrick Lee

January 31, 1977 — April 21, 2017

James who had the kindest, gentlest, most giving soul went to his eternal rest on Friday, April 21st, 2017.

He leaves to mourn his wife Barbara; his children: Kyle, Brooke and Ethan; his father Pat; sisters: Janine and Jessica; In-laws: Dave and Ethna Tutt, Norman (Nichole), Tammy (Ian), Jennifer (Marc), Lonnie (Shawneen), Paul; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. James was predeceased by his mother Carolynn.

James was born January 31, 1977 in Prince Rupert, BC. James was of the Haida Nation from the Tsaalth Laanas clan. He moved to Kelowna in 1996 where he met his wife in 2001.

James had many passions, his first being his love for his family. He loved playing guitar when he could and played in a band in Prince Rupert. He had trained in various Martial arts, he was a great mechanic and handyman thanks to his father, he was very creative, just like his mother. He loved doing activities such as kayaking, camping, fishing and going on road trips with his family. He was a great cook with lots of knowledge from cooking turkey dinners to smoking fish. James and his wife made very unique and creative cakes which everyone loved, Halloween costumes for their children, and unique crafts for Christmas. He was a man of many talents.

He was a very happy and content family man who was always willing to help where help was needed. He never complained when there was work to do. He was a loving and caring son, brother, husband, father and friend to everyone. James will be sorely missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to have had him in our lives.

The family would like to express their grateful thanks to the First Responders who worked so hard to revive James, to the RCMP and the Coroner’s Service. Donations in memory of James can be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.

A private family service will be conducted later.

  • Jennifer & Marc says:

James will be missed by many people, I believe he had a positive impact on everyone he met. He….was so kind, calm, postive and caring. It didnt matter what happened, he always had a positive response. He was always willing to help others, and I dont think he ever expected anything in return.

He was wonderful to my sister, and he was a positive influence on his kids. You can see his kind and gentle demeanor in their children. He’ll be missed…he is missed.

  • someone says:

he is missed, he has always been on my mind since i heard the news, he is in my heart, he has done good with caring for his family, he is dearly missed by, his loved ones and i know he’s watching over all of the people that he cared about, because he is still there, he is a great man he always has been, his first priority was to care for his close family and make sure they were are doing alright each and everyday, we miss him everyday in my household. i wish he was here to see of how much everyone has changed and of how the environment has changed, everything has a meaning these days, and i believe, he had a meaning the pass even if he wasn’t expecting it, none of us were expecting it to happen so early
