We Remember

WOOLDRIDGE, Adele Anne (nee Ballard)

July 11, 1960 — September 14, 2016

Grew wings to fly on September 14, 2016 at the age of 56. Survived by her loving spouse Duayne Campbell, daughter Bonnie (John) Barazzuol of Victoria, BC, son Loyal (Ian) Wooldridge of Kelowna, BC and granddaughter Alice Adele (Bonnie & John), her namesake, and brothers: Don (Sandy) Ballard of Victoria, BC, Gary (Janice) Dietrich of Red Deer AB, Ron (Shelby) Ballard of Duncan, BC and Glen (Cindy) Ballard of Shanghai, China. Predeceased by her mother Bonnie Ballard and Father Loyal Ballard. Born in Creston, BC July 11, 1960 to Bonnie and Loyal Ballard she compassionately loved animals from a young age. She always nurtured them with the utmost care even carrying her first dog, Rover around in a wagon.  Although she always yearned for horses she proudly accepted her Datsun sports car as all the ‘horsepower’ she would need to drive around Creston. Adele began her 35-year career with the RCMP serving her community first as a Stenographer and quickly became a Civilian Member dispatching police and 911 emergency calls. She met the father of her children, David Wooldridge in Revelstoke BC. Shortly after moving to Texada Island they welcomed their son Loyal and a year and a half later their daughter, Bonnie in Creston, BC. Adele had a brief and successful career as a Real Estate Agent for Century 21 in Creston where she was often celebrated for her care and compassion. The family was transferred to Kelowna, BC in 1993. Adele lived her dream of caring and owning horses as her love for animals continued as she adopted cats and dogs – most of which only someone with a HUGE heart could love. The afternoon of her life welcomed her current spouse, Duayne Campbell who shared in her zest for life and love of horses. They spent summers boating and camping with friends and family. Proudly, Adele co-founded two salons, Loyal Hair with her son Loyal. She supported her son by managing the finances and accounting for 10 years.   She did this while working full time and personally caring for her mother in her home for over 4 years. There was no one more enthusiastic in celebrating the marriages of both her children in the last year along with welcoming her only granddaughter, Alice Adele one year ago. Although she left our world far too soon, Adele lived her life to the fullest degree of integrity, compassion and love. We honour her for her commitment to her family, friends and animals for which she gave 110% to always. Adele saw the good in everyone and everything. She advocated for positivity and absolutely sparkled in every way. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 3:30 pm at Indigenous Winery, 2218 Horizon Dr E. • Shannon Tannas says:

It is with sadness I write this note to you today. Times in our lives when loved ones leave us are not our best times, but times that must be endured and stepped through. My thoughts are with you and I ask God to bless you and your family as you go through the steps to say good-bye to your Mother. I’m sure she flew eagerly to heaven without the weight and burden of a sick body. She looks back upon you with love and somehow wishes she could tell you that all is well and that life carries on – even for her. She’ll have much to catch up on with those loved ones who arrived before her. I trust she will be remembered well.

  • Donna Striha says:

Dear Duane, Loyal and Bonnie, Gary, Don, Ron and Glen and families – We were so shocked and extremely saddened to hear of the passing of my dear cousin Adele. She was a special woman, full of aspirations, accomplishments and a zest for life. May you have the solace of knowing that she lived her life to the fullest. I believe that her spirit will continue to watch over all those she loved in this world. May this and memories of her bring you some peace in the days ahead.

You both have been in my thoughts and I feel for you deeply. Losing a parent is never easy and losing them too soon is even harder. I lost my dad at 70 and that was too young. I could tell your mom was so proud of both of you and loved you dearly. Keep that knowing close to you. Love Lisa and family.
