Passed away August 19, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Survived by her loving husband Gordon Ziglar; daughters Carol (Dave) Hecko of Kelowna, BC, Doreen (Peter) Golko of Edmonton, AB and Shirley (Derek) Broadhurst of Cranbrook, BC; son Don (Linda) Spencer; grandchildren Chris Mike and Tanis Spencer, Jo-Dee Hecko Coello, Janice Hecko Hayward, Rick Pearson and Lisa Poleris and Jamie Shearer (Broadhurst) and Todd Broadhurst; great grandchildren Kalie, Brea, Grace, Cole and Luke, Kailie and Ashley, Zack, Aiden, Seth, Jeremy and Brandon, Andrew Clifford (Hecko) and Jayden, Daniel and Blake, Keisha and Jordan; great great grandchildren Sage and Hannah Clifford; brothers Francis (Hilda) Houde of Kelowna, BC, and Lewis (Joyce) Houde of London ON. Predeceased by her first husband Howard Spencer in 1976 and her brother and his wife Alfred and Marie Houde of Chetwynd, BC.

Our dear Mother and Grandmother Helen passed away at Hospice House in Kelowna, BC with her family at her bedside. Mom loved all crafts, gardening, and bowling and was a beautiful artist. Roses were her love. Mom touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was such a treasure to have had. We love you so much Mom and Grandma and will miss you ‘til we meet again. Love, your children and grandchildren.

Evening prayers will be held Monday August 24, 2015 at 6:00 pm and a Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Church 1260 Neptune Rd, Kelowna, BC with Father Cerlouie Jimenez officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society www.cancer.ca or to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, www.hospicecoha.org.     So sorry to be informed of the loss of Helen .She was a wonderful and strong woman ,she never complained about anything ,we had some great times with her and Gordon bowling ,so sorry for not keeping in touch but we were going through lot through the past year ,Dan is fighting his own battle with lung cancer and we lost our son of 47 yrs. on June 25th.that is why I could not be at funeral as it would of been exactly 2 Months to the day and I just could not be there.         Thank you for your kind words about Mom. She was a very strong person and battled her cancer for 10 years.
        The next step for all of us is the healing and that takes time. (One day at a time)
