Passed away at the Central Okanagan Hospice House on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the age of 55.
Predeceased by his parents Emma and Bill. Leaving to mourn is his loving and devoted wife of 18 years, Louise; children: Mike (Sydney), Adam (Anni), Chris (Kathryn), Manda; grandchildren: Tegan, Kyler, Callan; Brayden; many other relatives and friends.
Wilfred was born in Drumheller, Alberta on November 29, 1958 and grew up on the family farm in Hanna, Alberta. He moved to British Columbia in 1977 with his parents and started his own family. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for School District 23 for over 20 ears. Wilfred enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his family, camping, fishing, quadding and hunting. He was known for his hard work and sense of humour. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 29th at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House, 2235 Ethel Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2Z6. As a trades coordinator for SD#23 for a number of years,i worked closely with Wilf.His honesty and reliability made my job alot easier. Give him the challenge and one could always bank on the job being done. I moved on to become self employed and it’s folks like Wilf i miss the most.Sorry for your loss and all the best for the future for you guys..Chris.
I worked with Wilf for a number of years on the Westside. He was always a pleasure to work with as he had a great outlook,smile and usually had a joke or two.
He will be missed.
