We Remember

BOLTON, Howard Stanley

Long-time resident of Lake Country, BC, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2015.  Howard was born in Calgary, AB on June 24, 1929.  He met Anne Catherine Michel in Vancouver, BC, where he was serving as an RCMP officer.  They married on December 10, 1951, and Howard became a member of the Vancouver City Police.  After leaving the Vancouver Police force, Howard and Anne farmed in Stoughton, Saskatchewan, before making a permanent move to Winfield, BC.  Howard and Anne were active members of the business community in Winfield for many years.  They owned and operated Woodsdale General Store and Spartan Dry Cleaners.  Howard was a member of the Winfield Lions Club, and was involved in many community improvement projects.  He is survived by his son, Jerry, and daughter-in-law Louise; four grandchildren: Jon (Krista), Adam, Stephanie (Nicolas), and Laura; five great-grandchildren; and brother Jim (Anne).  A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm.  Howard’s family wishes to thank the staff of Brandt’s Creek Mews and Dr. Penney for their care and many kindnesses to Howard.  If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”
