We Remember

DAVIES, Marion Betty

Marion “Betty” Davies passed away peacefully on January 7, 2015 at the age of 100.  Betty was born in Portsmouth, England and immigrated to Canada with her husband Bill and son Keith in 1952, where they made a home in North Vancouver.   She and Bill eventually moved to CrescentBeach, South Surrey in the early 1960’s where they lived for many years.  Betty moved to Kelowna and has spent the last 10 years, most recently in Cottonwoods.

Betty was a happy and loving lady who is remembered for her kind heart and giving nature.  She will be in our hearts forever for her love was always shared widely with her family.  She leaves behind her son Keith and daughter-in-law Gail Davies of Chilliwack; three grandchildren who always knew her as “Nan”: Karen (Dennis) Borring-Olsen, Bruce (Wendi) Davies, Geoff (Bernie) Davies; five great-grandchildren:  Carlie, Erik, Christina, Brianna and Carson; her niece Judith King; sister-in-law Margaret Machin and many other nieces and nephews in England.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) George Davies in 1988 and her twin sister Marjorie King and four brothers:  Donald, Percy, Victor and Jack Guilford.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Green and the caregivers at Cottonwoods for making Betty’s last few years comfortable and a loving environment.
