Donald Louis Graham (Don) was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Homer and Anne Graham on February 14^th, 1940.  Whenever asked about his infamous birthday, he always joked “I’m a lover, not a fighter.”  Don was the oldest of 4 boys: Bob, deceased (Betty), Gary (Diedre, and their sons Taylor and Connor), Morley (Gwen, and their kids Logan, Heather and Max).  He grew up as an “airforce” brat and spent much of his childhood in different cities, including Regina, Ottawa and eventually Winnipeg.  He spent time working on the railroads as a young man, had early aspirations of becoming a pilot, and eventually chose to study Commerce at the University of Manitoba.  It was while working at Dog-n-Suds in Winnipeg that he met the love of his life, Sharon, in 1962.  They married in 1965, shortly after he started a sales career with Proctor and Gamble, which lasted over 30 years.  Don and Sharon spent nearly 25 years in Regina, where they celebrated the birth of their daughter Leanne in 1974.  They enjoyed family time at their cottage at White Bear Lake/Kenosee, and after the unfortunate death of Leanne in 1982 helped open the Regina chapter of Compassionate Friends, a support group for grieving parents.  A couple of years later, they adopted Cory Lyn and eventually moved out to Kelowna, BC in the summer of 1989. Don enjoyed many hours spent on the golf course in the summer, mainly at The Ponderosa in Peachland where he was involved with the Mens club for several years.  He also spent his winters on the slopes at Big White, all while continuing his career with Proctor and Gamble.  He liked to joke that he drove up and down the valley calling on all his friends… and got paid to do it!  After finally retiring for good in 2004, Don and Sharon were fortunate enough to travel abroad on several occasions, including trips to New Zealand, Turkey, a European River Cruise, as well as several winter months spent in the warmer parts of the United States.  Don was a devoted husband for 49 years, and father – especially proud of Cory Lyn and her achievements, and was happy to be able to walk her down the aisle at her and Richards wedding in 2013 in Mexico.  He enjoyed his time at the casino, a good glass of red wine, and was never too far from a Rum and Coke.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 9^th, 2015.  A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 14^th at 1:00 PM at the Springfield Funeral Home Chapel, 2020 Springfield Rd.
