We Remember

HAYWARD, Mary

January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970

We regret to announce the passing of Mary Hayward at the age of 94 on December 9th. Mary was born in Linaria, Alberta on March 3rd, 1920 to Magdelene and Joe. She was predeceased by her husband Walter in May 1994. Mary is survived by her younger brother Jim (son Doug, wife Marg plus two children), her adopted daughter Gidget (her children Peter and Kim), daughter Cheryl (husband Brian).

Mary and Walter lived on a farm near Rimby after WW2 for a few years then moved to Edmonton. They moved to Clinton in 1976 to be near her brother Jim, living there until the summer of 1985 when they relocated once again to Edmonton. After Walter’s death, she moved to Kelowna – to be near her daughter Cheryl – where she lived out the rest of her life.

A very special thanks goes to Dr. Clark and his staff as well as staff at Cottonwoods for their generous help and support over the years. A coffee time will be held at Mission Creek Alliance (Mission Creek Room), 2091 Springfield Road, Kelowna at 10:00 am on Thursday, December, 18, 2014 with Reverend Tom Koop officiating.

Her final resting place will be in the family cemetery in Linaria, Alberta. A memorial service is being planned in Linaria in the spring, date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are requested to send donations to the cardiology department, Kelowna Hospital Foundation.
