We Remember

NUGENT, Dennis Lewis

September 4, 1932 — February 21, 2015

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Dennis Lewis Nugent, a much loved husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle and friend to all.  Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Annette, children Sandy (Greg Purves), Patty Nugent, Theresa (Rob Watts), Dan Nugent, Trish (Paul Stewart).  Grandchildren, Christy, Jessica, Jennifer, Michael, Brittany, Patrick, Ellyanna, Mady, Bre, Stewy and great grandchildren Alexis, Sawyer and Olin. He is also survived by his sister Francis Jones, dozens of nieces and nephews, and life long friends the Cowan family.  Born in Gravelbourg Saskatchewan Dennis made his way to the Okanagan where he built a wonderful life for the past 50 years. Dennis spent 35 years as a Professional long haul truck driver but his passion was for sports, in particular hockey.  He played for the famous Gravelbourg Black Cats and loved nothing more than to watch his children, his children’s friends and grandchildren play the game.  Dennis spent his retirement years enjoying his family and his treasured pets.  This Irish Rover loved much and was much loved!  10-4 Good buddy.  Prayer Service on Thursday, February 26th at 7:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.  A Funeral Service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC at 1:00 pm on Friday February 27.  A celebration of Life at the Army and Navy Club in Rutland at 4:00 pm.
