We Remember

GAGNON, Rose (née Perreault)
—
On October 10, 2022, Rose Gagnon slipped away peacefully in her sleep at 95 years old in Kelowna, BC. She is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Lou and William; five daughters, Rose Marie, Yvette, Von (Keath) Johnstone, Suzanne (Shane) Shiner, and Bernadette (Gerry) Jarrard; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous relatives and friends.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Gagnon, in 1992; as well as her parents, Joseph and Bernadette; grandsons, Joseph and Matthew Lawson, William Gagnon; and all of her siblings.
Rose was born into a French Canadian family of 14 children – seven boys and seven girls – in St. Boniface, Manitoba.
Rose was a sweet, happy-go-lucky, and lovely woman who was always happy to greet you when she saw you. She enjoyed dancing, particularly when accompanied by her husband Bill, on one of his numerous instruments, especially the fiddle. In her later years, she excelled at bowling (well into her eighties), loved bingo, and enjoyed trips to the casino up to her last days.
Rose’s presence will be genuinely missed by her family and a large group of friends.
Thank you to the residents and staff at The Okanagan Chateau for their companionship and care these last several months and to all her healthcare providers with special thanks to Dr Williams and staff.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Capri Gardens, 1915 Pacific Court, Kelowna, BC.

My memories of Rose goes back to my childhood in Vancouver. Meeting up with Bernadette at her house on the way to school, Rose was always there to scoot us on our way so we will not be late for class. Always cheerful, friendly and a smile on her face. I still can hear her voice in the mornings in that house. Rose, may your next journey be guided by eternal light.
