sad to say goodbye to Mary . We had many years with her here in Sydney.
I have great memories of Mary from our teaching days at MacLennan Jr. High. She always impressed me with her intelligence and wit. Condolences to the family.
Please accept our condolences. How well I remember Mary and all the laughs we had on our drives to and from MacLennan Junior High. We thought of her often over the years since she left Cape Breton. She was a wonderful Lady.
So sad to read about Mary..I have such great memories of her and George and the children when they lived in Sydney. She and my husband Redmond, who passed away in July of 2012 were such good friends..My thoughts and prayers are with you all…Jessie
I’m saddened to hear of Mary passing away. She was a good friend, and a great golf companion. I cherish the memories I have of the good times we shared together at Lingan Golf and Country Club. My condolences to the family.
Our sincere condolences on your loss. The last time we saw your mom, she and Edna Cusack came for a visit and it was a pleasure to reconnect and reminisce. Your mother was a “down-to-earth” lady with a great sense of humour. The pride of her life ( and of your father’s) was their four children. You are a wonderful reflection of their love and devotion.
We are saddened to hear of her death.

Played golf with Mary for several years at Mission Creek course in Kelowna, where she was a member. She was an amazing golfer into her early 80’s. She told me one time that she had taught herself to play golf at the age of 12, after her father had sold part of his farmland in Northern Ireland to a group that wanted to build a golf course on it. Since it was right in her back yard, she told me, she just found some golf clubs & “fiddled around” with them, teaching herself the game. And she taught herself very well!
She was a beautiful, soft-spoken, & very kind lady. A gentle soul. She is missed.
With sympathy to the Gilmurray family from Alice McLanders, Sydney, NS
Please accept our sincerest condolences on the passing of Aunt Mary. My husband Sebastian Palazzo & I are currently travelling through Ireland and received the news from family that she had passed. Our thoughts are with the family today. Although we are unable to join you, we will take a minute today to stop into a church here to light a candle and say a prayer for Aunt Mary and the family. May she rest in peace.

To all the extended Gilmurray clan, my condolences. She was an admirable woman and I’m sure she’ll be sadly missed. It’s amazing the roads each of you has travelled, literally and figuratively, and I’m sure you all made her proud.

I was sad to hear of dear Mary’s passing. Marty and I (Aggie) enjoyed playing cards with Mary and George for over 20 years in Cape Breton. Mary was a real lady ,fun loving and was respectful of others. She often talked about her life in Ireland.
