We Remember
AINSLEY, Dennis Gerard
October 4, 1957 — May 19, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dennis Gerard Ainsley on May 19, 2024, lovingly surrounded by his family.
Born on October 4, 1957, Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Sandra; his two children, Nicholas (Bronwyn) and Mallory (Jonathon); and his four grandchildren, Ryder, Savannah, Kaycee, and Alaric. He also leaves behind his older brother David. Dennis was predeceased by his father Alan, mother Joan, brother James, and sister Suzanne.
Throughout his life, Dennis was known for his dedication and hard work as a scale technician. His commitment to his profession was surpassed only by his devotion to his family. A loving provider to his wife Sandra and a supportive father and grandfather, Dennis always placed family and friends at the centre of his life.
Dennis was a man of many talents and passions. An avid carpenter, he crafted beautiful furniture that will continue to be cherished by his loved ones. His enthusiasm for cars led him to meticulously restore a 1968 Chevy Nova, a testament to his patience and skill. He also enjoyed camping and fishing, finding peace and joy in the great outdoors, collecting natural wonders including an extensive cactus collection. Among his favourite pastimes was playing games with family and friends, especially chess with his eldest grandson, a tradition that brought them both great joy.
Dennis’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and skill. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in Dennis’s memory, may be made to BC Cancer – Kelowna – Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior.

Dennis worked with my Dad at Pacific Industrial Scales, and many years later I had the joy of being the contact for my workplace in getting our scales service by Dennis. He was super committed to what he does, and we always knew we were in good hands. I had some great conversations with Dennis, and I really like him. He will be missed as a professional and also as a super nice guy that was in it for the right reasons.
On behalf of myself and Progressive Planet Products, I would like to express my deepest condolences. I had the privilege of working with Dennis for over 25 years. Our conversations about family and hobbies were always a highlight for me. His expertise in his field was remarkable, and he often spoke about how much he loved his job. His laughter never failed to bring a smile to my face. He will be greatly missed.
Thank you Sonny. He did love his job and loved being of service to his customers.
I have known and worked with Dennis for over 30 years He was a very sincere and honest person who was well respected and loved in his profession and life He was one of a kind
Danielle and I, she is my big sister, remember our families growing up together in Cold Lake Alberta back in the early 60s. Dennis and Sandra took me around in the early 80s when I was out for a visit, then a Franco Ontarien. Not a terrible culture clash because of past family history. The whole family was cool. I lived with the family for couple of months. I will never forget Dennis, Sandra and family. ( you too David). I want to offer our deepest condolences from ‘Les Bedard’ from Ontario where your family also spent time at Uplands Air Force Base in the 60s.
Our lives have been intermingled for decades. A piece of our Ontario/Alberta/BC lives have been blessed with Dennis being part of it. Through teary eyes, knowing the man will not be forgotten…..Avec amour, tu me manque… Ray.
Sandra, kisses and love.
