We were so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Keep her close with all the great memories she has left.
Thank you Tom and Gloria.
Ms D, was a friend who didn’t even get upset with me when I piled into her Envoy Epic, driven by her son Meredith, with my 1956 Oldsmobile in about 1967. I paid for the damage of course but still she was very gracious about it. Many weekend nights I spent flopped out on the couch with Meredith and Clive sleeping in their bedrooms.
Thanks for sharing this story with us John. We remember it well.
For more years than I can remember we were lucky to call Catherine”Gran”, and with that privilege were invited into her life and home. Always sharing dinner, after dinner drinks sometimes before dinner drinks, knowing your presence mattered. My heart breaks for your family but my gratitude that you shared this lovely person called Gran will live on forever. Rest in peace Gran.
Thank you DD and Derral. It was great tot hear from you.
I was very sad to hear of my great-grandmother’s passing, who we always called Gran, and who I was named for, and who I remember always playing Cards and a frog jump game, and playing near her ponds, and I will never forget the fun times and jokes shared at Gran’s house in Kelowna, with the fantastic views and bird-watching. I love you, and miss you, Gran! Forever in our hearts. <3
Thank you Shayla Catherine. We really appreciated your contribution to Gran’s memorial too.
We are very sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. She was a dear, sweet lady. Thinking of you Penny, and your family.
Thank you Janet & Don.
Ruth, Penny, Clive and Meredith, my condolences to all you “Dyson Kids” on the passing of your exceptional mother, Catherine. I remember the first time I met Catherine, 63 years ago (!!!)…yes, it was when Penny and I first met when we were three years old, on a bus ride to downtown Kelowna with our mothers. Catherine’s integrity and devotion as a mother who was always so supportive of her children and all the “extended children” (all of us friends of her children), has often been a touchstone and model for me in my own struggle with parenting. Your mother will be greatly missed, a loss to all of us. Love from me, Dorrie (and Joe and Josh and Rob), to all of you.
Thank you Dorrie for sharing your memories. Sometimes it doesn’t seem that long ago that we were all East Kelownaites (Kelownians?)
To your whole family. I am sorry to hear of your mom’ passing. We had such happy times.
While doing a search to find you Penny I came across your Mother obituary. I was sad for you it is so difficult to lose a parent, she was such a neat lady. Not certain if you will even receive this but I thought I would try anyway?
