We Remember

FERGUSSON, Kenneth Campbell McCulloch
June 12, 1933 — September 2, 2024
It is with due solemnity and respect that we acknowledge the passing of our esteemed Brother, Kenneth Fergusson – known to many simply as Ken -Master of the Freemasons, who peacefully passed on September 2, 2024, in Kelowna, British Columbia, at the distinguished age of 91.
Ken was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on June 12, 1933. Brother Fergusson was the son of Kenneth William Campbell Fergusson of Scotland and Alma Maud Fergusson (née McCulloch) of Canada. His noble profession as a Civil Engineer began at the University of Manitoba and that life’s work took him to locations across Canada, the United States, Europe, Africa, as well as the Middle East. Ken earned the respect and fellowship of those in his profession as he performed his duties with integrity, befitting one dedicated to the Craft. Brother Ken shared his life with his devoted wife of 64 years, Joyce Doreen Fergusson (née Folliott), and on retiring, made his home in Kelowna, BC, where he faithfully discharged his duties as a Grand Master of his Lodge. He leaves to mourn him: his wife, Doreen; sons, Bradley and Rodney; his brother, Campbell; brother-in-law, Christopher; and many nephews, nieces, and friends. His passing leaves a void not only in the hearts of his family and brethren, but also in the annals of our Order, where his dedication and upright character shall be fondly remembered.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Though his mortal form has been consigned to the ages, his spirit continues to dwell among us in the eternal light of the Great Architect. We bid farewell, dear Brother. You have laid down the working tools of life, and we, your fellow craftsmen, are left to carry on your legacy of honour, diligence, and fraternity. May you rest in eternal peace.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Ken Fergusson. I only recall meeting him on occasion at his parents home in Great Falls, Manitoba, where my great uncle Ken Fergusson was the superintendent of the hydro electric power dam there, and my great aunt Maud welcomed to their first home overlooking the dam, and their second home that they built on a point of The Winnipeg River.
We visited often from our home at Fine Falls. As a youngster, I remember the warmth of Auntie Maud, and the fascination of Uncle Ken’s thick Scottish accent.
treasured memories of my youth.
Sincere sympathy,
Kim Sharpe
