We Remember

FOWLER, Garry Colin

August 14, 1945 — October 20, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Garry Colin Fowler, who passed away peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital on October 20, 2025, at the age of 80.

Garry is survived by his wife and best friend of 55 years, Coreen; his daughter, Tiffany; his grandchildren, Keylan (Abbey) and Kacee; and his great-grandchildren, Leo and Peter.  He will also be missed dearly by his beloved dog Bridgett “Bridgie”.

Garry was born on August 14, 1945, in Regina, Saskatchewan to Colin and Ila Fowler.

Garry’s true passion was playing golf, and he was fortunate enough to be able to do so right up until 2 days before being admitted to KGH. He was a member of Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club from its inception.  Over the years he bonded, both on and off the course, with a very special group of golf friends fondly known as ‘The Mokes’ whose friendship he cherished. He will be missed by ‘The Mokes’ as well as many others whose lives he impacted.  Garry was not always happy with his golf scores, but he was proud to say that he made the ‘hole in one’ club a total of 9 times!

He loved watching all sports, but his favourite team, by far, was the Canucks and thankfully, the last game he was able to watch (with his daughter) on October 16th brought him great joy with a 5-3 win.

Garry was a well-respected business owner who treated his employees like family. He was a humble, honest, kind and caring man who did not want to be in the spotlight despite the respect and admiration he earned.

Garry loved his family dearly.  Anyone who knew him well knows how proud he was of his daughter and his grandchildren, especially for their recent accomplishments and the bright futures they are building.

In accordance with Garry’s wishes, there will be no formal service, and we encourage everyone to honour and celebrate his life in your own way.

Garry’s family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at KGH that took such good care of him during his stay.
