We Remember
HARRISON, Sharon
December 1, 1946 — January 27, 2022
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Sharon Harrison, wife, mother, sister, and friend. Sharon passed away at home on January 27, 2022. She was 75.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill; and their daughters Kathy (Corey) and Debbie (Brian); grandchildren Carson, Kira, and Kaiden; her brother Brian; sisters Lorraine (Michael) and Jennifer (Glenn); and brother-in-law Bob (Valerie). Her mother Hazel Hewlett and her father Robin Drought predeceased Sharon.
Sharon was raised in Westbank, BC. The Drought family lived above “Robin’s Market”, the only full-service grocery store in Westbank at the time. She helped her dad with a small summer concession by the lake and often closed the shop to go swimming on a hot summer’s day in Gellatly Bay.
After graduating from grade 13 in Kelowna, BC, Sharon moved to Calgary, AB with her girlfriends from Westbank. Here she met Bill, and they were married in Westbank in 1966. Sharon followed Bill’s career in the bank, where they made many friends along the way. Summers were spent at their cabin at Gull Lake.
They then decided to move back “home” with their two young daughters and purchased a vineyard in southeast Kelowna. Sharon soon decided she was not a “farmer” and went to work at the Mission Overwaitea, where again, Sharon made long-lasting friendships.
After the vineyard, they moved to Westbank and Sharon soon joined the “Book Club”. The “girls” enjoyed their wine and dine with Sharon and were always planning a yearly out-of-town adventure. There were always lots of laughs and good times.
Sharon was known for her quiet, confident manner and her willingness always to help others. She was able to create many long-lasting friendships.
In her memory, please consider donating to the ALS Society of BC.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the Harrison family as they remember the happiness and joy that Sharon brought into the lives of those who knew her. Sharon was indeed blessed to have raised 2 beautiful and thoughtful daughters, namely Debbie and Kathy who cared for her on a full-time basis in her later months of illness. May each of you be blessed with renewed strength at this time of sadness. Warm hugs, Bonnie and Dave
