We Remember

LEROUX, Norman “Norm” Eric Joseph
May 14, 1955 — November 1, 2024
With heavy hearts, we have said goodbye to our beloved brother after his battle with cancer.
Norm was predeceased by his parents, Rose & Urgel Leroux; brothers Fern, Roger, Claude, and Guy; and sister Marguerite Myers. He will be missed and is survived by four brothers and six sisters: Jeannine Leroux, Claudette (Martin) Rath, Gil (Jocelyne) Leroux, Ed (Jill) Leroux, Bert Leroux, Diane (Greg) Harty, Murielle (Don Osborne) Geddert, Juliette (Eric) Vanderhorst, Joanne (Don Ritchings) Leroux, and Ron (Sheri Roe-Leroux) Leroux. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Norm was born in St. Paul, AB, where his family farmed, raising cattle & feed. He had an incredible ability at a young age to help his father match up a calf with the right cow in a herd. He continued his schooling in Kelowna, BC, when the family moved in 1967. Norm had a keen memory for birthdays and anniversaries, as well as sports team rosters, trades, and standings. He loved to attend local football and hockey games and cheer on his favoured Canucks. He was often seen wearing items with the Canucks logo.
Norm was a very gentle soul who loved his constant companion Shadow (pictured) and was always ready to help a friend in need. He loved to spend time with his family, which often led to some sort of shenanigans. Many friends have shared what Norm’s kind and easy going nature meant to them. He has left this world a gentler place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Agency – Kelowna (Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre).

My sincere condolences on the recent loss of Norm to all the family, extended family and friends of Norm. Thinking of you all at this sad time.
So sorry to see this. Met Norman doing maintenance in parking lots with his dog Shadow years ago. Always brought smiles to many going through parking lots as Shadow would follow him and be a social greeter to many!!! Sending condolences to all the family!
Cam myself and our girls
wish to send our deepest condolences. We spent many years living next door to norm and always enjoyed his easy going nature.
I will always smile remembering how he continued to call our dog ollie, dave. It came to the point that ollie would run to the fence when norm was like hi Dave.
I completely forgot about how Norm called Ollie, Dave. I just always remembered all the large family gatherings and how Norm and Rose always allowed us to be included and getting to play with all the kids of the family. Deepest condolences to the family.
