MADAHAR, Satvir Kaur
July 7, 1949 — May 23, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Satvir Kaur Madahar, who passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on May 23, 2024, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 74. She passed away while surrounded by those she loved.
Satvir will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Joga Singh Madahar; children Jaswinder (Ranjit) Madahar and Sarvinder (Davinder) Madahar; grandchildren Stephanie, Kiran, Navleen, and Arashdeep Madahar; grandson-in-law Karnjot Heera; and brother Gurmeet Singh. She was predeceased by her parents Kartar and Chanan Binning; and sister Harbhajan Kaur (d. 2021).
Satvir was born on July 7, 1949, in Jandiali, India, and married Joga Singh Madahar in 1968. She was known for her graciousness and kindness, touching the lives of everyone around her. Satvir spent her married life in India until May 31, 1997, when she moved to Canada with her husband on June 1, 1997. From then until May 23, 2024, she lived with her children in their home, creating countless cherished memories. Diagnosed with cancer in July 2021, Satvir bravely battled the disease for almost three years. Her passing leaves a profound void, and she will be deeply missed by her entire family and all of her dear friends.
A FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, JUNE 1, 2024, AT 10:00 AM, located at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, with Tarsem Singh Goraya officiating.
