MILLARD, Violet

October 20, 1934 — June 27, 2024

Born on October 20, 1934, in Inwood, MB, Violet Millard went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2024, in Kelowna, BC.

Grandma Violet was the heart of the family. She had a special talent for making bread, filling her home with the comforting aroma of freshly baked loaves that brought everyone to the kitchen. She loved watching the children play in the schoolyard, where she enjoyed their laughter and energy. Violet’s home was a haven. Whether it was a casual afternoon or a special celebration, having her family together was her joy. Camping trips were another tradition Violet loved. In the great outdoors, loved-ones gathered around the campfire, she found delight in the simple pleasures of life.

Violet, we will miss you, we love you.

Violet is now reunited with her husband Richard; daughter Brenda; son Doug; and her grandson Jason; as well as her parents John and Anna; and her 5 siblings. She is survived by her son Ernie (Deborah) and her grandchildren Kirsten (Jack), Lauralee (Dan), Richard, and Roderick; as well as her son Bob (Paula) and her grandchildren Ashleigh, Isabella, and Jared. Violet also leaves behind Doug’s wife, Roxanne (her daughter-in-love) and their children Violet (Tim), Brenda (Jacob), Roxy, and Kevin; as well as her sister-in-love Donna.

The family would like to acknowledge Beata and Alfred for all the help given.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnybrae Bible Camp, in Violet’s memory.

ON FRIDAY, JULY 19, 2024, IN HONOUR OF VIOLET THERE WILL BE A VISITATION, A GRAVESIDE SERVICE, AND A CELEBRATION OF LIFE.

Visitation: There will be an opportunity to pay your last respects and to visit with the family from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.

Graveside Service: Violet will be laid to rest at 2:00 PM at THE KELOWNA MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY, 1991 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC.

Celebration of Life: A service will take place at 3:00 PM at GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH, 150 Glenmore Drive, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below).
