OLSEN, Roy Adelor
April 7, 1968 — May 20, 2024
Born on April 7, 1968, in Swan Lake, MB, Roy Olsen passed away suddenly as a result of a motorcycle accident on May 20, 2024, in Kelowna, BC at the age of 56.
Roy is survived by his mother, Marie (Bill) Barron of Souris, MB, and by numerous family, friends & coworkers, who will miss his energetic love of life. He was predeceased by his father, Adelor Frederick Olsen, in 1981.
Roy was a true enthusiast of life and the great outdoors. He had an insatiable appetite for snowmobiling and motorcycling, always ready for his next adventure. Roy’s uplifting spirit was matched only by his love for his dog, Bentley, his adventure buddy.
A longtime employee of Laing Roofing, Roy brought his passion and dedication to his work every day. He was known for his professionalism and loyalty, never hesitating to go the extra mile. Roy’s infectious enthusiasium and commitment left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with, and each of his friends.
Memorial donations may be sent to STARS Air Ambulance.
A Celebration of Life will be held on FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM (PDT), at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.

Marie, my heart goes out to you as I too know the sorrow of losing a son. I did not know Roy but one of my sons knew him as part of the snowmobile community and he attended the Memorial Service recently. I’ve watched the service on line and was emotionally touched by the tributes given and photos of his life. Roy’s life will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to have known him. Donna N.
