We Remember

ROBERTS, Eleanor L.

July 23, 1948 — February 23, 2021

Eleanor passed away peacefully at Brookhaven Care Centre on February 23, 2021. Eleanor was born in the South Wales town of Marthyr Tydfil July 23, 1948. She was the youngest of the three daughters of Haydn and Doris Hughes; both her parents and her two sisters, Jean (Phil) and Susan, have passed on and Eleanor will join them in Heaven.

Eleanor married her husband, Malcolm Roberts October 26, 1968, and they have one son, Andrew. The Family immigrated to Canada May 5, 1982, to start a new chapter in their lives in British Columbia, in the District of Delta. They lived there for nearly 11 years but moved to Creston in 1993 where Eleanor and Malcolm purchased the Creston Valley Motel. Their tourism industry chapter ended in March 2003 when they moved to Kelowna and their current home.

Eleanor was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1997, and she fought that horrible disease for many years, but suffered a Stroke in 2015 which created some serious physical and mental issues for her. But Eleanor never complained, and she kept fighting her medical conditions with a smile on her face.

She will be sorely missed by Malcolm, her best friend and companion for over 54 years. She leaves her son, Andrew; her daughter-in-law Trisha; and her beloved grandchildren Adrian and Chloe.

Rest in Peace Eleanor, you truly deserve it.
