We Remember

SAULT, Daniel

January 2, 1957 — March 20, 2025

It is with great sadness and love that we announce the loss of Daniel Robert Sault, age 68, who passed over at Kelowna General Hospital
on March 20, 2025, from health complications associated with pneumonia.

Dan was born on January 2, 1957, in Nanaimo, BC. He was welcomed by his dad, Bob; mom, Betty; and older brother, Mark; and was later joined by his younger brother, Greg.

Dan grew up throughout BC, moving to five different locations with his RCMP employed father. Of all the places Dan lived, he loved Kelowna the most and later settled there to raise a family with Hollie (née Stallnecht).

Nicholas (Lynsy), Meghan (Alex), and Charlotte (Stephen) are his best contributions to this world; with three delightful granddaughters – Evie, Emelia and Audrey as a legacy.

Dan graduated from Vancouver Community College with a print-graphics technology degree in 1981. He was employed by Okanagan Community College in 1982, where he remained as the Print Shop Lead until 2002.

Dan enjoyed golf, fishing, music, photography, art, and travel. Memorable trips included Hawaii, Machu Pichu, Lake Titicaca, Germany, and Vietnam.

Dan had a generous nature and was a free spirit who loved life, friends, and family dearly. Like many people though, his dark side brought troubles, including substance misuse and later homelessness.

Dan was a unique, fun-loving character who will be missed by all who knew him well for his wry wit, and charming banter, which was always present, even during his darkest days.

Holding his memory are Mark (Carol) and family; Greg’s family; Nick (Lynsy) and family; Meghan (Alex) and family; Charlotte (Stephen); and many friends.

May we see Dan again on the other side. Until then, may he rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, we would like to encourage people to make donations to Kelowna’s Gospel Mission or the Seniors Outreach Services Society.
