We Remember

SUESS, Theodor “Ted”

December 11, 1930 — December 8, 2019

Theodor is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Teresa; his daughters Anita Suess of Coldstream, BC and Patricia (née Suess) (Michael) McGrath of Lihue, Kauai HI; grandchildren Rowan and Connor McGrath; sister Irma Hoffmann of Germany; nephews Edmund and Donald Molis; nieces Johanna (Helmut) Wolf and son Ingmar, and Anna (Dietre) Kraiss and children Phillip, Gloria, Sarah, and Victoria; as well as numerous cousins in BC, MN, Germany, and Brazil. He was sadly predeceased by his parents Wilhelm Süss and Wanda (Zabel) Cabel of Tomaszow, Poland; sister Martha Molis of Winnipeg, MN; and son Leonard Suess of Calgary, AB.

Ted was born in Tomaszow, Poland on December 11, 1930 and immigrated to Wapella, SK in 1948. He moved to Edmonton, AB in 1952; married Teresa Keeler Yearous in 1955; raised three children: Leonard, Anita, and Patricia. Was a Steam Engineer but worked as a nursing orderly until 1974; graduated in 1976 as a Registered Nurse; and retired in 1988 from a Unit Manager position. and He moved to Kelowna, BC on September 15, 1988 where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, photograpy, and travel. He spent twenty years as a “Snowbird” in Arizona, USA.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Sun Pointe Village, especially the Belgo Community, for their care and consideration during Ted’s stay with you. Special thanks to Dr. Stone for his ongoing concern and assistance.

A celebration of Ted’s life will be held at a later date. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders, www.doctorswithoutborders.ca, or Alzheimer Society of Canada, alzheimer.ca.
