We Remember

SYMBALISTY, Ivan

Ivan Symbalisty, In Loving Memory.

Ivan James Symbalisty went to be with the Lord in Heaven on April 25, 2023, at the age of 57.

There in Heaven, Ivan is joining his mom Laura; dad Jacob; and brothers Larry, Glen, and Lawrence “Lornie”. Left behind are his siblings, David, Luther, Adele, Alvena, and Diane, also nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Ivan grew up going to church and loving the Lord, he and would sing in church (and at home) while playing his guitar. He had a great sense of humour, he made us laugh; he would often imitate Elvis while singing at home. He was a loving, caring son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Unfortunately, due to mental health in the family, Ivan had Schizophrenia from the age of 19. Ivan lived a good life despite his mental difficulties – with his family loving and caring for him to his last day here on earth. Ivan was a big kid at heart, and will be remembered for giving skateboard and helicopter rides, and playing an assortment of games. Ivan was a man of few possessions, but would give you the shirt off his back- a Superman shirt to be exact, now a treasured memento. In addition, Ivan was always a free spirit which resulted in some unbelievable stories, and they will continue to bring smiles (or shakes of heads depending on the event remembered).

For the past few years, Ivan lived in a group home, which was just down the street from the family home. There he was well-loved and cared for by his nurses, Anita and Natalie, whom the family greatly appreciate.

Ivan will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

When the time comes, we his family, shall be together again with our arms around each other in heaven.

We will miss you Ivan, till that day comes…

There is a train at the station,
With a seat reserved just for you,
I’m excited about it’s destination,
As I’ve heard it sets you free,
The trials and tribulations,
The pain and stress we breathe,
Don’t exist where you are going,
Only happiness,

I BELIEVE.

REST IN PEACE IVAN
