Passed away suddenly in her 101st year on October 10, 2013. Lu is survived by son Don (Marilyn) of Delta, daughter Lorna (Malcolm) of Oyama, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Harold in 1975 and granddaughter Shawna (2010). Lu was born December 22, 1912 in Parkhill, Ontario. The pioneer family moved to Sutherland, SK in 1913 travelling across Canada on a Colonist Train. She and Harold moved to Vancouver in 1938 and then relocated to Oyama in 1950. Lu later moved on to Kelowna living in the Wedgewood. She enjoyed travelling and visiting many different countries around the world. Lu was an active member of the Kalamalka Women’s Institute for many years. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she thrived on family gatherings and loved playing cards and games with family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered as a graceful and very wise lady by all. A family service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Kelowna Hospital Foundation in Lu’s memory or to a charity of your choice. We have fond memories of the many times Lu joined our family as we celebrated special occasions with our parents and her dear friends the Glovers. She was a very dear lady. Our sympathy to you at this time.
